Yeah ... was (according to the translation) -12C here in the morning for a few days. A bit chilly to have to go out on the porch for a smoke.

Re: Study Hall.
Toasty warm here fellas ,got me woodburner in the evenings ,leccy blanket when i go to bed ,I dress warm in morning and if needs be i can take layers off as the work gets warmer or the weather for that matter .I've got nightimes sorted and daytime is a doddle ,i hardly ever work in the pouring rain ( there are enough dry spells to catch up on that lost time but i did wonder last month ! ) so days like we've just had today cold but sunny to me are just gorgeous ,i would much sooner have a cold winter day than a hot summers day anytime.I live my working day by the weather and i think by now i can handle anything that comes .I just dont like getting wet lol .. Mind you Jim - 12 would be a challenge we hav'nt had temperatures that low for years ( i think minus 6 is the lowest we've had here this winter relatively mild by your standards ! ) .

It was 68 today (20 by your method) - dumps down 30 degrees for the next 2 days, and then comes back up. Rain maybe next week - works for me

wow thats an incredible temperature range, must be quite hard to adjust to such rapidly changing temperature i guess you are used to it so it does'nt seem anything but the norm for you ,reakon it would take me a little while to get used to that

Well we had that El Nino last year which didn't help. Doesn't seem to be over yet either and things will run into 2024.

Sounds like going from tropical to arctic conditions overnight then back again. I always had the impression Texas was always a warm and desert like climate.

It's definitely warmer here than it was in NY ... it's just that we're dealing with the El Nino aspect this year. In NY during the '60s, we'd get 2-4 feet of snow and it was just another day. Here there MAY be snow at some point (we aren't on the equator line) but it's not the same at all.
The only weather thing here that drives me nuts are what I call the "brown sky days." We get high WIND here that gets so bad, if you look at the horizon, it starts turning brown from the farm land blowing dust. Then, as time goes by, the entire sky goes from blue to brown.
Outside of that it's much better here than NY.

Here's one for you.
I was watching a science video on "cells" one day, and it hit me that the idea of life (and this "afterlife") is all centered in the cells ... whatever that meant.
It SEEMS that what we really are traces all the way down to the cells of our body. Science has only theories regarding where these CELLS came from ... but the idea is that that just like all the individual people on a planet making the PLANET itself the end result, these cells collectively make the person what they really are.
Whatever the source of the "life" in these cells boils down to, it SEEMS this is what survives death. This SEEMS to show that everyone on this "other side" came from wherever in the universe and the population over there is a collection of all physical life through the existence of the physical universe.
That's about as close as I can get.

There is a school of thought that says the D.N.A in our cells could carry information about us that we have yet to discover. We just need to learn how to download it and interpret it and hey presto the complete boxed set of the human species

One would assume ... If at that point we had "all the answers" - I wonder what we'd do to fill an eternity of time?

Well, according to what I looked at there's going to be some "waiting time" ... scientists have no clue what's going on either. But at least they're looking.

Yes but in that scenario we would have no concept of time so we could talk crap to our hearts content.....

Re: Study Hall.
It was a kind of head banging read but I got through it, but it left my brain scrambled.
''This era occurred only one ten-millionth of a trillionth of a trillionth of a trillionth of a second after the Big Bang''
''viewed from another physical perspective – its as close as one can get to nothing at all. But that nothing is still a kind of something''
''yet also coursing with energy at temperatures of a hundred thousand million billion trillion degrees Celsius. Even Loki, the shapeshifter, would be impressed''
I need a pill.......
